Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program, you must meet all of these requirements. do you want it?
- Receive a recommendation from a designated community economic development organization
- Have graduated from a publicly funded post-secondary institution with qualified work experience or recommended community
- Have a qualified job offer
- Meet or exceed minimum language requirements
- Meet or exceed educational needs
- Prove that you have enough money to support your change in the community
- Intention to live in the community
Work experience
You need 1 year of continuous work experience (at least 1,560 hours) in the last 3 years.
To calculate your work experience hours
- Calculate hours worked in part-time and full-time jobs
- Hours must be in 1 business, but they can be with different employers
- Hours must be over at least 12 months
- These working hours may be within or outside Canada
- If you worked in Canada, you must be a temporary resident with authorization to work in Canada
- Do not count the hours for which you were not paid; Voluntary or unpaid internships do not count
- Don’t Count the Hours When You Were Self-Employed
Your work experience should include
- Adequate number of core duties and all essential duties listed in your National Occupational Classification (NOC)
- Activities listed in the key statement of your NOC
